Cocoa Wilds

Cocoa Wilds is a chocolate kitchen in the heart of Auckland, where every bonbon and gift box is handcrafted fresh on-site and beautifully packaged. Visitors can watch the chocolate being made through the shop-to-kitchen window while they sip on one of Auckland's most viral hot chocolates. Founder Byron McLean started in 2023 to chase a single idea: make the best, freshest chocolates in New Zealand, travelling through Europe and the United States, sampling more than 300 chocolates and apprenticing with makers in France and Italy. In just two years, that craft has delivered 12 medal-winning products. Cocoa Wilds was recognised with a Gold Medal for its Signature 51% Dark Milk Hot Chocolate Flakes in 2026. In 2025 it was awarded Gold Medals for Kokako Espresso Ganache and Blood Orange Cookie Bonbons, as well as eight Silver Medals.

Built on taste and quality and amassing a cult following for its fluff cup hot chocolate, as well as its own chocolates, Cocoa Wilds showcases other Kiwi craft bean-to-bar makers in-store. Visit the O'Connell Street store, or order online for nationwide delivery.
